我们的“母亲”不但给世界增添了色彩，而且为我们做出了极大的贡献：黄河水不但是黄河广大地区的生命之源，而且维持了生态平衡。“母亲”为我们奉献了自己，那我们怎么回报她呢?是保卫?是爱护?不，我们并没有这样做，而是践踏她，摧毁她，让她总是暗暗垂泪。

夜晚，我听到“母亲”发自内心的哀伤和小小的啜泣声。看到自己为孩子们做出的贡献不但没有得到应有的回报和尊重，反而过度的开发，不加以保护，以至弄得现在是“遍体鳞伤”，她怎么也想不到自己得到的是今天这样一种情形。我们的“母亲”她疲倦了，她累了，她明白自己要走完有生之年了，她要用自己的最后一点绵薄之力，对人类的行为做出反抗，提醒人们该尊重她的生存权利了。

大自然怒气冲冲，要对我们人类做出应有的'惩罚：一场场洪灾，冲走了许多人的房屋，让他们无家可归;一阵阵沙尘暴，笼罩了整个天地;一场场泥石流，接连不断得席卷于世界各地。大自然的惩罚，让一些人失去亲人，让一些人失去家园，让一些人失去生命。而这些并不是大自然所为，凶手，就是我们人类啊以!难道我们受的惩罚还不够吗!

为什么黄河会这么黄呢？在很久以前，黄河的水并不黄，它的名字也不叫黄河，它叫做大河。渐渐地，人们发现大河的水渐渐变成了黄色，因此改称为黄河。黄河的名字就这样延续到现在。黄河上游的河水是十分清澈的.，可是当它流到黄土高原以后，就被黄土高原染成了黄色。在很多年以前的黄土高原也并非目前的这个模样。那里曾经生长着茂密的森林以及一片片水草丰美的草原，林木繁多，生存着各种各样的动物。可是因为人们长期以来对于森林的破坏，使得很多的草原与林地变为荒漠，结果很厚很厚的黄土全都裸露了出来，再加上黄土是十分疏松的，经过雨水以及河水的长期冲刷以后，泥沙被流水携带着流进了黄河，结果黄河的水给染黄了。

假如舀一碗黄河水，就能沉淀出半碗泥沙来，因此民间有“一碗黄水半碗沙”的说法，事实上，黄河水变黄是由黄土高原的泥沙染黄的。

如今，我们的黄河母亲已经不是原来的样子了。因为我们有些不自觉的居民会把牛奶袋、一次性杯子……这些杂物往河里乱扔，工厂排放出来的污水全都流到河里，河里的水流到黄河里，因此我们的黄河才会被人们污染的如此脏、臭。
